I was transferred to TCS Noida 2 office last year after I was forced to take a project a project there.
The project and work there was crap but I had no choice as I had already rejected multiple projects because of this.
THE OFFICE
The office at Noida 2 was the biggest in NCR by area but the location was very bad. There was a farm literally next to the office. There was nothing nearby(no food joint, no shops). There was just a small cigarette shop which was often owercrowded. Also it was too far from any residential areas. I was living around 12-15 km away from the office.
THE TEAM
Again I got a very good team here. I worked under two team leads(The first one left after 4 months) . Both were pretty good at what they did. The team members were nice and cool. Apart from work, we had a great time. We used to gossip, roam outside(for which our manager often scolded us) and had long discussion about anything. Some of them became pretty good friends with me. We had a lot of parties and had lots of drinks :P.
THE WORK
It was the worst work you would get as a Software Engineer. Even though the technology used was good, the work was too bad(data mapping). Also there was not much work(everyday 2-3 hours were sufficient to do it) and we used to read news and other articles half the time.
THE MANAGERS
It was then, I realized why people always curse their managers in the IT industry. I don't know why we used to hate him so much but every time we saw him, we wanted to curse and abuse him. Also, he didn't knew anything and just used to give lectures without knowing the actual thing.
Also the other team leads were bad. One was a ladkibaaz, one didn't knew anything about technology(only has some domain knowledge) and the last one had problems with anything we tried to do(though she was the prettiest one).
MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE
It was good except for the work, leads and location. I found some very good friends and had some great times with them. I will miss these friends but overall I think it was better I moved out.
